Salmon Bay put on a historic show in front of a record crowd of over 1,500 at Interbay Stadium to open their 2026 home slate, scoring a club-record nine goals in a rout of Bigfoot FC.

A debut Ginny Lackey hat-trick, an U’i Kaaihue wonder-goal, and braces from Anna Menti and Chloe Seelhoff highlighted 90 minutes of pure class from the Coho.
The match started with a bang within the first four minutes. Lauder Headrick picked up the ball at the top of the box and roofed a missile of a shot to open Salmon Bay’s 2026 home account.
Salmon Bay FC would continue to dominate possession and force several saves from Bigfoot goalkeeper Hayden Rallo.
A second breakthrough would come half an hour later in the 33rd minute. Kaaihue had a long shot blocked off a short free-kick routine, with the rebound coming straight to Lackey. Lackey, the 2025 USL W Northwest Division MVP, sent a powerful first-time deflected strike into goal for her first tally as a member of Salmon Bay FC.
The host’s third and final goal of the first half was an early goal of the year contender. A short corner at the 42nd minute mark rolled to the feet of Kaaihue. After carrying the ball centrally, last week’s player of the match chipped one over the keeper and into the goal from 25 yards out.
Salmon Bay FC entered half-time comfortably leading, but not content with the 3-0 scoreline.
It didn’t take them long to extend the lead. In the 49th minute, Jourdyn Curran dribbled into the attacking third before unleashing a vicious strike that rang off the crossbar, falling right into the path of Lackey, who headed home her second from point-blank range.
The Ginny Lackey show wouldn’t stop there. In the 52nd minute some lovely interplay would lead to a Samiah Shell curling cross straight to the head of a diving Lackey, who completed her debut hat-trick.
Bigfoot FC was able to find a response in the 56th minute, when a dangerous far-post cross led to a scramble in the box, and Seattle University’s Kyla Schuster fired home her club’s first goal of 2026 from seven yards out to make it 5-1.
After three goals in seven minutes, it would take nearly 20 minutes for the scoring to start up again. At the 73rd minute mark, Menti would step up to take a free kick from 25 yards out. Menti’s curler was straight at Bigfoot’s substitute goalkeeper Peyton Warns, but would slip through the grasp of the young netminder to give Menti her first Salmon Bay FC goal.
It only took a few minutes for Menti to find her second, getting on the end of a Shell corner and looping a header to the far post to make it 7-1.
Chloe Seelhoff was involved in the attack for the full 90 minutes and was rewarded for her efforts in the final phase of the match. In the 83rd minute, a Caroline Studebaker cross came to Seelhoof at the top of the six-yard box. Seelhoof expertly controlled the ball of the chest before firing home her first goal of 2026 on the half-volley.
Seelhoff would make it a late brace in the 85th, getting a touch on a driven Shell cross for the club record ninth goal of the night.
Salmon Bay FC goes to 2-0-0 with the result, and will travel on Sunday to play the Northwest Division’s only other perfect team, the 4-0-0 West Seattle Rhodies side that was picked atop the most recent USL W power Rankings.
Lackey’s hat-trick earned her player of the match honors in her first match for the club. “This group has been super welcoming, and it’s been easy for me to fit in… We wanted to send out a statement to the rest of the teams that we’re here, we’re ready, and we’re gonna score a lot of goals.”
