Salmon Bay FC returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion on Saturday, beating Bigfoot FC 6-1 in Maple Valley.

The match got off to a rocky start for Salmon Bay, as within three minutes the hosts found the opening goal by way of Taylor Marks. Marks finished off a through-ball from close range to give Bigfoot their first ever lead over Salmon Bay just moments into the game.
Despite controlling the lions-share of the possession, it would take until the 20th minute for the Coho to respond. They did so with a piece of individual quality from Jourdyn Curran, who laced home a long-distance strike through traffic to make it 1-1.
It would take another period of sustained pressure for the Coho to take their first lead. In the 34th minute Samiah Shell lofted a far-post cross to Ameera Hussen, whose effort was nearly cleared off the line, but did cross to give the visitors a 2-1 advantage.
The clubs would go into the locker rooms at that scoreline, the closest margin at the half in any four of Bigfoot and Salmon Bay’s all-time meetings.
Salmon Bay only needed a couple minutes to extend that lead in the second half, as Anna Menti headed in a Ui Kaaihue corner kick in the 48th.
The Coho tacked on the 51st, with Shell once again playing distributor, playing Chloe Seelhoff in on net, who dispatched the 4th Salmon Bay goal.
The 5th goal would come in the 54th from a newcomer, as Morgan Manalili received an entry pass from Anna Menti, cut the ball around a defender, and slotted it into the bottom corner.
After a frustrating first 45, Salmon Bay had scored 3 goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half to pull away.
Manalili would also contribute to the final goal of the match, being fouled in the box in the 71st minute, drawing a penalty that Samiah Shell would dispatch.
The match would end 6-1, a much-needed result for a Salmon Bay side who are hoping to run the table for the remainder of the regular season.
Anna Menti was named player of the match for her domination of the midfield, and contribution to the scoresheet with a goal and an assist.
