Carly Whalen is a first year player for Salmon Bay FC and part of our inaugural 2025 roster. Before college, Whalen graduated from Liberty High School where she was a three-year varsity player and defensive MVP. She then joined the University of Montana as a freshman in 2024 where she made an immediate impact. Whalen played in 18 of 19 matches for the Grizzlies while making 11 starts, scoring one goal and assisting three times. Whalen’s efforts for the Big Sky Regular Season Champions earned her All-Big Sky Honorable Mention recognition. Then after a summer with Salmon Bay, Whalen had another great season as a sophomore in 2025. She started in all eight matched before getting injured for the remainder of the season for a Grizzly team that won the Big Sky Regular Season and Tournament Championship. Whalen still has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining.
With Salmon Bay FC: Whalen played in four matches from Salmon Bay FC in their inaugural season, starting in the season opener against the West Seattle Rhodies.
