Maya Courtenay is a first year player for Salmon Bay FC and part of our inaugural 2025 roster. Before college, Courtenay played for Lake Stevens High School. She joined Sonoma State University as a freshman in 2024 and played in 18 matches while making four starts and assisting twice. Unfortunately, Sonoma State shut down their athletic department earlier this year, ending the soccer program. Courtenay was able to make the Salmon Bay squad from open tryouts and use that to help her find a new school ahead of her sophomore season. Ahead of the 2025 season, she transferred to Western Oregon University. As a sophomore, Courtenay played in 17 matches (starting once), scored once, and assisted twice for a Western Oregon team that made the GNAC tournament. Courtnay still has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining.
With Salmon Bay FC: Courtenay played in four matches for Salmon Bay FC in their inaugural season and made one start on the road against the Tacoma Galaxy. She scored a goal against Lane United and assisted against Bigfoot FC in the season finale.
