2025 Salmon Bay FC goalkeeper, Elena Milam, has just signed a professional contract with Apollon Ladies FC. Although there was some professional experience on the inaugural Salmon Bay squad this summer, Milam is the first player to sign a pro contract after playing for Salmon Bay FC.

“We are extremely proud of Elena for extending her soccer career internationally. She was an incredible asset to our success this past season and a reliable presence in goal, contributing significantly to our strong defensive record,” said Tiffany Mallick, club Vice President. “We have no doubt she will continue to thrive and build on that success with Apollon Ladies. Her journey is a great example of our mission as a club—to foster growth and provide pathways for our players to reach the professional level. Salmon Bay FC will be supporting and cheering her on every step of the way this season.”
This season, Milam started in all 11 matches across all competitions, keeping nine clean sheets, and only allowing two goals, the fewest in all of USL W League. After a great summer with Salmon Bay, Milam now joins the top club in all of Cyprus. Last season, Apollon Ladies FC won the Cypriot League, the Cypriot Super Cup, the Cypriot League Cup, and also the Cypriot National Title while also getting to compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Although Milam is the first player to go pro after playing with Salmon Bay, we expect she will not be the last. Keep tabs on Milam, and future Salmon Bay FC pros with our alumni page.
